1 Obtain approval from IQT for electricity connection

The customer has to request and obtain approval from the Central Technical Inspection (IQT) for the electricity connection.

2 Submit application with electricity distribution utility CEZ Shperndarje and await external inspection

The customer submits the application with the electricity distribution utility CEZ in person. Documents submitted have to be in original or notarized. A declaration of conformity of the internal wiring signed by a licensed electrical engineer must be submitted with the application.

3 Receive external site inspection and await estimate

After the customer has submitted the application, she/he has to wait for an estimate. The distribution utility CEZ sends a representative to the site to do an external inspection of the warehouse. Someone from the customer's party has to be present during the inspection. After the inspection, the distribution utility prepares the estimate for the connection and sends it to the customer.

4 Obtain design by a private firm and get design approved by the Central Technical Inspection (IQT) and by the utility (OSSH), receive internal inspection by the Central Technical Inspection (IQT)

The design of the external connection works is done by an electrical design firm. The design has to be approved by the Central Technical Inspection (IQT) and by the utility. IQT is a state company. The internal wiring of the building is inspected only by IQT at the beginning of the connection works. The inspection can be requested anytime.

5 Receive external connection works by a private firm

The external connection works are carried out by an electrical contractor hired by the customer.

6 CEZ Shperndarje installs meter and inspects the internal wiring of the cabin and carries out the external connection works and opens the meter

The meter is installed after the connection works are finished. The meter is installed and opened by the distribution utility CEZ. Before the opening of the meter, the utility is carrying out an inspection of the internal wiring of the cabin of the transformer and of the external connection works.
