Application is submitted to the commercial management of the local office of the Public Electricity Corporation (PEC).
In addition to the application form, the customer needs to submit the following documents:
• Copy of the construction permit (and show the original)
• Copy of (personal or family) ID (and show the original)
• Copy of land scheme from the cadastre
• Copy of the electrical scheme along with the required load

The Public Electricity Corporation (PEC) checks the application form and a specialist reviews the file to check all documents have been submitted.
No clearances are required before the client can apply for electricity. The only requirements are to have the land title and the building permit.

The application process is followed by a site inspection by the Public Electricity Corporation (PEC). However, the inspector has to be picked up, as they do not always have their own means of transportation. Also, because of some issues in Yemen’s addressing system, it might be difficult for inspectors to know the exact location of the building if they are not picked up.
The Public Electricity Corporation (PEC) inspects the site to determine the specifics of the connection. The inspector then prepares an estimate of the connection fees and costs. Inspector’s fee is included in the total costs.

Any electrician can carry out the internal installation, and no inspection of the entire internal wiring is inspected during the process.
