Doing Business Research Conference

Past, Present, and Future of Business Regulation

Doing Business is a World Bank Group annual flagship report that highlights business regulatory barriers for entrepreneurship in 189 economies. Countries around the world look to the Doing Business indicators to monitor their business regulatory environment in comparison to their neighboring countries, address their own progress over the years and inform their reform agendas.

On February 20 & 21, 2014, the World Bank Group convened a research conference titled, Doing Business: Past, Present and Future of Business Regulation at the McDonough School of Business in Georgetown University in Washington, DC. The conference was co-sponsored by USAID and the Kauffman Foundation. The conference aimed to bring together academics, World Bank Group staff and development professionals from around the world to discuss the impact of regulatory reform and to guide the Doing Business report project in the years to come.
